Are you just as wild about art as you are about reading?! Why not sign up for our Wild About Reading! Winter Reading Program and pick up materials to create your own wild mixed media work of art?
Baskets of mixed media materials and thick art paper to build your work on will be available for participants at the 2nd Floor Information Desk : Monday, January 13 - Saturday, January 25.
Works can be submitted to any Librarian at the 2nd Floor Information Desk and will be displayed for public viewing and voting with a small prize being given to winners in both the teen and adult category. Completed Contest Submissions Due : Saturday, February 15
Submission Requirements :
no bigger than 15 x 15 inches
physical submissions only (no photos of mixed media piece or digital submissions)
no hazardous or perishable materials included on mixed media piece
please include name, title of piece, age group, & contact information
description of work is optional
thick, mixed media art paper will be available at the 2nd Floor Information Desk along with mixed media materials, but participants can choose to build on their own surface if they wish
If you don't want to carry supplies around or don't have the space to work on your piece elsewhere, you are invited to come to the library to make your mixed media piece for fun or for the contest! Materials will be made available at MPL Makers Club, Thursday, January 16 from 530-730pm OR Teen Time Plus, Wednesday, January 29 from 330-430pm
