Program Description
Body
Come join the Popular Astronomy Club - Quad Cities for an evening at the Moline Public Library. The program will start in the Library's Gold Meeting Room, where participants will get a brief introduction to some of the heavenly objects we will be hoping to view that evening, before moving outside to where the Club's telescopes will be set up. In case of bad weather, the program will remain indoors for a presentation instead of outdoor viewing.
The Popular Astronomy Club will also be offering free “certified safe” eclipse glasses for the upcoming October 14 and April 8 solar eclipses.
This program is part of the Project Next Generation Grant and is open to students in grades 5-12. Registration is required.
Funding for Project Next Generation is provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Secretary of State/Illinois State Library under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
