Hop on board the history express as Geneseo historian Angie Snook shares her research, photographs, and stories of the Orphan Trains.

Orphan Trains were started by the Children's Aid Society (CAS) in 1853 and ran until 1929. The CAS transported orphaned, abandoned, or homeless youngsters from the city streets of New York to rural areas.  Northern Illinois was one of the most common destinations.
