The world’s first Science Fiction novel, Frankenstein, was written by a 19-year-old named Mary Shelley.  The story of how she came to write such a novel reveals the painful struggle of a brilliant and rebellious mind. Born of two idealistic parents, Mary turned her back on 19^th century English social norms to have a relationship with romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley.
