In honor of Women’s History Month, the Moline Public Library is hosting an exhibit featuring 12 Quad City area heroines.
This touch-screen kiosk exhibit features oral histories of heroines in the arts, science, business, education and philanthropy.
Some of the women included in the exhibit include: Maggie Tinsman, a former Iowa state senator and community advocate; Zenaida Landeros, Executive Director of the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Regina Tsosie, a Navajo activist; and Jan Masamoto, founder of JTM Concepts, who was detained with her family in Japanese-American internment camps during World War II.
This exhibit’s stories will be preserved in the Putnam’s collection, according to Christine Kastell, Curator of History and Anthropology. The exhibit will be at the library during the month of March.
