Join us in the Children's Program room for a rip-roaring fossil discovery afternoon! Learn how creatures and plants from millions of years ago become fossils and are discovered today. Junior geologists, paleontologists and archaeologists can join our friends from Augustana College's Fryxell Geology Museum & Geology department for fun excavating activities, fossil crafts & more!
National Fossil Day celebrates the preservation and excavation of these once-living time capsules and is held to highlight the scientific and educational value of paleontology, and the importance of preserving fossils for future generations.
