Program Description

Body

Drop off your non-perishable food items in our library's lobby in support of the The Arc of the Quad Cities Area in partnership with the QC Disability Awareness Coalition's food drive.

The ARC's food drive is in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. who said. “The time is always right, to do what is right.” The Coalition knows that people with disabilities have many talents and skills to offer their community. Community service is something that every American can participate in regardless of disability.

MLK called on all Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems.  Members of the QC Disability Awareness Coalition are tackling food insecurity by spearheading a Food Drive in honor of MLK. The MLK Food Drive engages volunteers with and without disabilities to work hand-in-hand to serve people in need.
